  • A five-fold growth in BPO market will add nearly 2.5 percent directly to India’s GDP from exports earnings.

  • Tier 2 and 3 cities in India will have to meet approximately 50 percent of the additional talent requirements. This will necessitate creation of physical and social infrastructure in these cities.
  • One of the biggest challenges facing the sector going forward is the issue of manpower. From a people perspective, capturing a fivefold growth will put pressure on talent availability at all levels.
  • The number of people required to support impending growth are available, unless the current focus on “ready-to-eat” talent is altered.
