Chip level engineer understand the circuit and the components, they can repair the devices that their peers in Card level cannot. Card level engineers can replace the cards or go to chip level engineers to repair their faulty products and devices. There are lacks of card level Hardware Engineers working in India. But the number of Chip Level Engineers can be counted in hand.
CLR Engineer get more salary that card level Engineer because the cost of replacement of a product is more than the cost of repairing a product i.e. cost of mother board is rs.3000/- but the cost of repairing is Rs 450/-. What will you do repair or replace. So the company doesn’t minds to pay more to CLR Guy than ordinary engineers.
